How much rose petals do I need?
For a light scattering of rose petals down your wedding aisle, you will need one pack (10 cups) of rose petals for every 2 metres in length of your aisle. Most wedding aisles are 6 to 10 metres long.
A rose typically contains 20 to 40 petals, depending on the variety, so one rose can yield 1 to 2 cups of petals.
Flower girl: 4 to 8 cups per flower girl.
The Secret to Playing Petals Around the Rose
The rose is the dot in the center of an upward facing die side. The dice that show a one, three and five sides each have a rose; the sides with two, four or six dots do not have a dot in the center of the die, so they do not have a rose.
If you have petals that are flat and the size of a dime, you could have over 100 petals per cup. On the other hand, if you have full sized petals from long stemmed South American roses (like ours), you may have 20 to 50 petals per cup.

Roses are sold to professional florists by stem length- 40cm, 50cm, 60cm, and so forth. Typically 40 cm have an average of 15 to 20 petals and 50 cm roses will average 20 to 30. Every variety and every color rose will vary.

How old should a flower girl be?
Usually, flower girls and ring bearers range from ages three to eight years old. But don't let that stop you from giving those roles to someone younger or older, or even to adults, especially if you're not too keen on the idea of including children in your wedding.

How long do rose petals last? Fresh rose petals will usually last up to three days after being plucked from the flower. You can also dry your flowers or petals after you have used them and save them for as long as you'd like.
Use pruners to cut off a flower that is either in full bloom or just prior to opening. Use your fingers to gently pluck off petals, one at a time. Remember that the stems are thorny, so use care to avoid pricks. Lay the petals in a single layer as you gather them.
